So I scored this little baby at the local antique/flea market, thanks to Mama.
I know exactly where I want to put it...on the wall outside our office! It will be used for important notes, bills to be paid, receipts, things to be filed.
My problem? I have no idea what color to paint it. I know the "Season's Greetings" has got to go, and I don't like the deep red, but I like the little deco on each slot. I have plenty of ribbon, but don't want to start with that until I know what color to paint it. Of course I want it to look shabby. Hmmm?

For a shabby look I think white is the general color of choice. Heirloom White is my personal favorite. :)
And then you can add in accent colors with whatever ribbon you go with. Fun!
What a great find.
I know this is probably boring, but my favorite spray paint colors right now are black and Heirloom White. They look great with the edges scuffed up.
There are so many cute spray paint colors out there. You might just want to hit that aisle at Home Depot or WalMart and pick something that jumps out at you.
No idea on paint colors...but I second Kara! And to answer your question, I met Robin when she came to our church in California as a summer missionary. She came more than once and our whole church family fell in LOVE with her. I've sinced moved to Texas, but I keep in touch with Robin. Just <3 her...such a wonderful person :)
What color is the wall outside of your office?
I think a yellow or green would be pretty or brown or deep red. Wow the colors are endless.
